MY HOPE
WHAT SHAPED ME
& WHO I AM
I grew up in Orange County, CA as a first generation Vietnamese-American. I was a sensitive child, and didn’t know how to reconcile the softness of my internal world vs. the arising difficulties of my external world. Having faced mental health challenges at an early age would later forge a lifetime of interest in the mind-body-soul connection.
I earned a degree in Finance at University of California, Riverside with additional education in Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford, England. I learned how to anticipate people’s needs and honed the ability of pattern recognition through the material exchanges of modern society. I realized after graduating that Finance did not resonate as a career path, but I’m grateful for the foundational skillsets it provided.
Taking a step into honoring my sensitivities, I worked towards my Usui Reiki Master certification at IMPART (Institute for Mediumship, Psychic, Astrological, & Reiki Training). It was here that I was able to refine my intuition and psychic nature under the guidance of Dr. Anne Reith. These classes fed a growing hunger to bridge the gap between science and spirituality.
Said gap was bridged by starting pre-med courses in the midst of metaphysical school training. I eventually attended Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA and received my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 2022. I gained in-depth knowledge of the human body on the physical plane and worked with paradigm shifting mentors that encouraged me to believe in my vision. With Dr. Brad Lichtenstein’s guidance, I was able to shape my philosophy of medicine around breathing patterns and how they impact nervous system regulation, and therefore, the rest of our bodies.
During Bastyr and especially after graduation, a cocktail of unaddressed trauma, rigorous programs, and environmental toxicities caught up to me. My nervous system was in sympathetic dominance (fight/flight) for far too long and it manifested as hospitalizations and being bedridden for days to weeks at a time. I disclose this to empathize with what illness can rob us of— our energy, hopes, dreams. I also want to share that it is possible to shift from a place of suffering to a space of grace, even if we’ve hit rock bottom. It was time to live my medicine and embody everything I had learned physically, mentally, and spiritually in order to heal.
I surrendered to the naturopathic principle of vis medicatrix naturae, the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Through conscious reprogramming of my autonomic nervous system and honoring a multidimensional approach to medicine, I was able to heal significantly despite the list and longevity of diagnoses. Daily practice of meditation/breathwork, connecting to the Loving Creator, and holistic health care remedied my vitality.
Cycles of profound healing clarified that I no longer was a victim to my circumstances. It demonstrated that I am a powerful co-creator in a quantum reality. Day to day, I do my best to be a living example of this medicine in the midst of life’s highs and lows.
It is an honor and a privilege to be able to share my mission of healing with others. Thank you for witnessing me in this web of life.
